The Platinum Elite is a breeze to maneuver on four wheels, gliding smoothly and turning with ease. Travelpro's Platinum Elite Hardside Spinner performed impressively during our tests. Our favorite softside suitcase is the Travelpro Platinum Elite Spinner. We tried lots of excellent suitcases, but the Samsonite Freeform Hardside Spinner was a clear winner. The Tumi International Dual Access carry-on was a close runner-up to the Samsonite Freeform. The bag has a light-but-rigid metal frame and a tough EVA-molded back panel that unzips and opens wide to allow easy access to the main compartment. We check that the main camera compartment is well padded and offers good protection from bumps and knocks. There's no rigid frame on this pack, but the back panel offers some protection against a poorly packed lumpy bag and is nice and breathable, allowing hot air to escape when you're working hard. Even if you make a hole in the pack, the hole will not expand, and the fabric will not rip off. This $90 hardside suitcase maneuvers really smoothly, even on carpet and over bumps, and small waterproof backpack handles turns like a champ. When buying carry-on luggage, you'll see a range of hardside and softside options. We carried the packs across the Cascade and Olympic Mountains of Washington, brought them along on buses and trains while commuting to work, filled them for a field science expedition to the Seaward Kaikoura Range in New Zealand, tried them on enjoyable hikes around the Colorado Rockies, and embarked on new adventures in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

They each had different needs from backpacking to commuting and weekend tripping, so we were able to see how each bag faired in different circumstances. After six months of regularly using the bag, we found it to be the perfect size for weekend trips. We found it easy to clean, however. Here is a selection of four-star and five-star reviews from customers who were delighted with the products they found in this category. We found it easy to fit everything into the two main compartments and mesh zippered pockets, though we had to expand it, which makes it substantially larger. 28. Or a PocketCor belt specifically designed with five stacked and sliding compartments so you can fit a variety of essentials comfortably around your waist. We were able to pack everything into the bag’s various compartments and loved the flexibility of a removable suiter for trips with dressier attire. The truth is we all have different bodies though, and a pack that’s comfortable for someone else may very well not be comfortable for you. Made of premium fabric with leather corner piping and chrome hardware, it held up well under many hits with a bat - no tears or scuffs in sight.

This little lifesaver wraps everything up in its extra soft Italian leather lines eco-friendly material. Here are the bags strong and affordable enough to qualify as one of the best leather backpacks on the market. The clamshell design also features several interior pockets and compression straps on one half to easily hold our four-day-trip packing list. We had no issue packing the clothes and shoes on our list with the suitcase expanded (which adds two inches). We wish this carry-on had a zippered section or removable bag for dirty laundry, but it does have a separator to keep your shoes away from your clean clothes. Each of these Angel Love wet/dry bags contains a leak-free section for dirty or wet clothes or swimsuits and a zippered dry section for clean items. The heaviest items should then go in the center of the pack near your spine and core. A pad on the outside of a pack may get caught on branches when hiking narrow trails or bushwhacking off-trail. The results of these tests were considered - along with price, weight, dimensions, materials, and smart features - to narrow down the best carry-ons currently on the market.

Considering the reasonable price, durable construction, and spacious capacity, we think it's a great choice for frequent fliers and anyone in need of a high-quality carry-on. There are a few minor niggles such as the interior access but for 85 Euros, given its toughness and capacity, the Case Logic is a bit of a bargain. Earning perfect scores in all tests, this all-star carry-on has a spacious capacity, a super-durable thermoplastic shell, and smooth-rolling wheels. After hitting it with a bat, the polycarbonate (high-strength thermoplastic) shell was scuff-free and showed virtually no signs of damage. Even after six months of regularly traveling with this bag, it shows no signs of wear and tear and any scuffs it has accumulated have been easily buffed out. It only comes in four colors and doesn't have any smart features or a combination lock. It also comes with a TSA lock. The new version has a much larger valve that comes with a pump sack that no longer requires Do-It-Yourself systems to inflate. And while it only comes in four colors, we're big fans of the simple, sleek design. We loved the sleek, minimalist-modern design of the Freeform, which comes in 12 hues ranging from white to mint to merlot.
